most of these so called professional products are being put on the drug store shelf by there manufacturer.Target, cvs, rite aid, walgreens, publix,It is in our best interest to keep these products out of our salons.I dont beleive for one minute that their counterfiet,These retail stores are not purchasing couterfiet products from anyone. Its time the beauty manufacturers stop telling stories, were not beleiving it anymore. And that is the ugly side of the beauty buisness.

I often see that while there is so much emphasis on Business and Technical skills no one wants to address the "People Skills" piece of the puzzle! Too many great people enter our business but end up quitting before they have had a chance to succeed-usually before the 5 year mark!
Why is that? They get Burned-Out!
Anyone who has been in the industry for as long as I have knows that our job is 80% interpersonal and 20% technical. You simply have to have the skills to communicate well or you will end up poor and dissatisfied with your job It's simple really, If you don't know what the clients are really asking for, you can't give it to them!
Our industry needs a wake-up call!
Ask me what time!

Is Michael Cole still teaching? He taught us to save your tips to buy a home, building or retire. I did it for ten years and put over $100,000 in the bank. Today i own my home and the buidling my salon is in. Thanks to Michael. He would be great for Salon Life.

My big idea came from Michael Cole many years ago. He told us how important it is for salon owners to own your building. Too many of us cant sell our salons when its time to retire - but you can sell a building. We plan to retire soon and will sell our salon to our employees. We'll finance the sale and get montly payment likely till we die (if we are lucky) - but the rent on the building we own free and clear will be what pays for our retirement. God bless Michael Cole wherever he is.
