Dr. Mehmet Oz - Secrets to Great Health
NCA was proud to bring Dr. Mehmet Oz, health expert to the Oprah Winfrey Show, to our industry at this year’s SalonLife event.
Dr. Oz wowed the crowd with a down to earth, inspired presentation on how to insure long term health and vitality. His insights into the key to good eating, weight loss (or ”waist” loss) and maintenance and exercise were among the program’s many highlights. See Dr. Oz on the SalonLife stage by clicking on the video below, or use this link.

Obesity is an important issue for all people.Does Dr. Oz address some of the health issues directly affecting the beauty industry, such as carpal tunnel syndrome or back problems?

Dr. Oz has a lot of information on the website www.realage.com including an easy to use workout video that you can use for free online. He spoke a lot at the event about back problems - tying much of it to weight (or “waist”) problems and the impact on the back.He has a lot of great information in his latest book. Also, MaryBeth Janssen spoke about excercises and stretches to help avoid carpal tunnet.

To be more clear, I am asking is if there is any education available that introduces a method of hairdressing that addresses the physical degeneration that can rapidly take place in the professional beauty population? Or,if there is a technique being taught now that introduces revolutionary tools and techniques that are that are so advanced that they are rejected by the socalled luminaries of our time.Even with some states establshing ergonomic laws and standards, I’m not aware that the industry leadership has taken a stance or dialogue to prevent cumulitive trauma disorders from prevailing in our industry.Plase let me know if you think that the consciousness has evolved to the level of proaction.I would appreciate you telling me if there is even one manufacturer that provides education that is compliant with state ergomic laws thus preventing them from being liable for the future claims against them in a class action law suit brought byhairdrssers.Or maybe you could tell if NIOSH has had any involvemant in our industry? Thanks

On the treadmill, how many minutes constitute 1000 steps? What pace? and what elevation is needed to be of value as a daily workout?

Hi,
Would you be kind enough to tell me the name of the blood test that determines if your body lacks or needs
anything?
Thank you.

Connie, there are many tests available but best bet is to check with your doctor or healthcare professional for advice.
